What
is it?
Designing Instruction for Web-Based Training is a three-day workshop
based on proven instructional design principles adapted to take
advantage of the web and the corporate intranet for distance and
self-paced learning. You will apply what you learn in the course
to a project of your own with feedback from your instructor and
colleagues. The course focuses on the practical aspects of designing
web-based training and helps you determine how best to design, develop,
implement, and evaluate web-based training.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is for those course developers, content experts,
and trainers who will be developing instruction for a web-based
training site. This workshop is also for project managers who will
be managing the development of web-based training either with their
staff or with contractors. Training managers who want a consistent
methodology and approach to designing web-based training for their
training department will find our systematic approach invaluable.
And web designers who want an effective methodology for developing
web-based training will be introduced to a process that works effectively
and efficiently for all subject matters.
Benefits to You

You will learn the foundations for web-training development that
are not dependent on any one authoring tool, but incorporate the
principles of effective instruction and development applied to the
web.

You will have over 25 job aids that detail all the steps of the
process and help you back on the job in designing web-training sites.

You will take home a 326-page Participant Guide that documents
the entire course, provides you with examples, and specifies the
how to of web development.
You will learn how each web site in an intranet leverages corporate
knowledge and best practices and how your site fits into that network.
You will have criteria to evaluate the usability of web sites that
you develop, manage, or are considering for your corporation.
"The practical knowledge is what I needed the most: lists, forms, and tools will support my process. The IT info allows me to create a project plan with a credible section for IT. I have two IT experts who will send DSA a thank you card for explaining this to me. " |
